Balfour Beatty is carrying out work on the foundations for the new pylons between the A38 and the compound at Tarnock.
Over the next 10 days we will be working on three pylon sites to the west of Biddisham. We will be at each site for around three days. This section will be completed by 14th September.
The work involves driving piles into the ground. We know this work can be noisy and disruptive and we are sorry for any inconvenience.
To reduce disruption to local residents, we will not carry out any piling over the weekends and we will limit piling to between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
We are working closely with Balfour Beatty to complete the work as quickly as possible and to reduce noise levels as best we can. The hydraulic impact hammer we’re using is the most silenced hammer on the market and the piling rig has been designed to minimise the amount of noise and vibrations generated during the works. The hammer on the piling rig is fully enclosed to reduce the noise emitted from the operations to the lowest level.
We will return to Tarnock area in November to carry out work on pylons to south of Tarnock compound We will be in touch with residents nearer the time.
