Building T-pylons from Bridgwater to Loxton

We’re starting preparations to build the new overhead line from Bridgwater substation to a new cable sealing end compound at Loxton, where the new connection will go underground through the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Preparations include ground and soil surveys, ecological mitigation and clearing some vegetation and hedgerows, and erecting stock fencing along the route of the new overhead line.

We’ve appointed Balfour Beatty to build the T-pylons and construction work will start in May 2020. We’ll provide more information on the construction programme when it is available.
