Only a few days left to give National Grid your views!

There are only a few days left to have your say on National Grid's Hinkley Point C electricity connection proposals.

The company would like to hear your views by Tuesday 18 December on its recently announced draft route of the 400,000 volt electricity connection between Bridgwater and Seabank near Avonmouth.  Previous consultation helped shape the proposals for the route, chosen after nearly three years of planning and listening to the views of local people.  Your views on the draft route are needed by the project team and will help form the detailed connection plans, due to be announced in 2013.

There are various ways to find out more about the route and be involved.  For example, you can:

Visit one of the community information hubs where all the project documents and large maps are available. Before travelling, please check details on our website or contact the community relations team on 0800 377 7347 as the opening times may change due to demand. The hubs can be found at:

The Information points are accessible when the venues are open.  These times may vary so please contact the community relations team on 0800 377 7347 for more details.

As well as visiting the information centres, there are other ways to learn more about the draft route for the proposed Hinkley Point C Connection.   For example:

Log on to the web site where there is an interactive map and a short film showing how the draft route was chosen, as well as technical documents and an Overview Report which explains the draft route in more detail.

Follow us on Twitter: @NG_Hinkley or visit us on Facebook: National Grid Hinkley Point C Connection Project

Visit local libraries or council offices who will be able to provide further information

Look out for information in local newspapers

Ask for more information by calling the Community Relations Team on 0800 377 7347, send them an email at or write to them at freepost address: Freepost H POINT CONNECTION.

After the 18 December, the project team will spend the next few months continuing to gather technical and environmental information to help add more detail to the draft route, including locations for new pylons.

After careful consideration of all the draft route feedback collected, National Grid will consult on more detailed proposals, and hopes to submit a formal application for a Development Consent Order to the Planning Inspectorate later next year.  Ultimately, Government will make a decision based on a recommendation made by the Planning Inspectorate.
