Project documents

This page provides links to all the technical documents that have been produced since the start of the project. There are also links to some other documents which have helped inform the project.

Stage 4 documents

Statutory consultation in line with section 42 and 47 of the Planning Act 2008 was held between 3 September and 29 October 2013.

As part of the statutory consultation we received feedback proposing a change to the route of the proposed overhead line in the Southwick area. We therefore undertook additional local consultation on the revised route in February and March 2014.

Stage 3 documents

Stage 3 began in September 2011, when we announced our preferred route corridor for the proposed connection. In summer 2012 we then asked more about what matters to people and their communities. We also asked for feedback on our proposals for the local electricity network.

In November 2012 we announced the draft route for our proposed connection. We then asked people for their feedback on the draft route.

Stage 2 documents

Since the Stage 1A and 1B Consultations were undertaken we have adopted a new corporate approach to the design and routeing of new electricity transmission lines. To align with this approach the Hinkley Point C Connection project moved directly to Stage 3, as Stage 2 had been undertaken as part of the Stage 1A and Stage 1B Consultations.

Stages 1A & 1B documents

The findings of the Route Corridor Study formed the basis for an extensive Stage 1 Consultation exercise.

In response to requests for further information we published more detail on the technical issues involved in building subsea and underground cables, together with more background on our proposals. We also reopened the Stage 1 Consultation to allow members of the public to provide us with additional feedback. This extension to the Stage 1 Consultation process is referred to as Stage 1B Consultation.
